What
Defining DEI&B is the first step in our DEI&B journey.

DIVERSITY: Means having proportionate representation across all dimensions of human difference.
EQUITY: Means fair treatment for all while striving to identify and eliminate inequities and barriers.
INCLUSION: Means everyone is included, visible, heard and considered.
BELONGING: Means that everyone is treated and feels like a full member of the larger community, and can thrive.

We know that these definitions will continue to evolve as the needs and preferences of our team members and society at-large evolve.
Why
Our DEI&B policy and beliefs are vital to our company's purpose, mission, values and culture.
Improve ourselves: We gain insights into our own thought processes, life experiences, and values as we learn from people whose backgrounds and experiences are different from our own.
Improve our teams: Diversity within teams drives innovation, new ideas and perspectives, improves problem-solving and decision-making, and increases productivity.
Improve our company: More diverse companies recruit and retain better talent, attract a wider client base, see higher profits, and invest more back into the employee and customer experience.
Improve our communities: By improving our company's cultural competence, we are better able to serve our clients and the diverse needs of their patients.
How
Our DEI&B process for continual improvement
Make DEI&B everyone's responsibility: This means seeking ways to include every staff member in the DEI&B continual improvement process and making it a company-wide strategic priority.
Seek to Understand: This means having a frame of mind and heart that empathically listens to others first before seeking to be understood in all human interactions.
Identify Areas for Improvement: This means using feedback and analytics to uncover deficiencies and being honest and transparent about areas that need improvement.
Make Bold Changes: This means being innovative and making meaningful changes to policies and procedures in order to gain more traction on outcomes.
Assess: This means keeping a continual pulse on employee sentiment and being ready to pivot when needed.
Repeat: We will continually seek new and better ways to meet the evolving needs of our employees.
